Mamalates LLC is cebrating it's 10th year in business. Although I started my restorative birth recovery method after the birth of my first son and have been teaching mom + baby Pilates based classes in Portland, Or for years, I only just launched my products / e commerce site last year.

I offer a mamalates: mom + baby workout DVD, cesarean survival kit, an essential birth recovery kit and other unique, safe products designed to help the new mom heal.

How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?

I have students and clients that attend my classes locally- they purchase postpartum binders and my workout kits. It's easier for me to direct them to the site than to have a boutique that I need to manage at the studio.

I also work/ network with other birth professionals and they recommend my products and website to their patients and clients.

Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?

I use most everything through Shopify. I have a local fullfillment company and all purchases are handled through stripe.

What are your top recommendations for new ecommerce entrepreneurs?

Even if you only have a few products, get your store up and going. You can always increase inventory later and learn along the way, without feeling overwhelmed.
